The Real Me by AB

For over 3 decades, I have thought and spoken a certain kind of way. I have done things in a particular way mainly because of a specific identity. Being born into a Christian home can have two main effects on you. You can either come to know God very well or end up pretending to know him when in fact He only remains the God of your parents or family.

I have been reflecting a lot lately and I have made one conclusion from my observations. The matters of faith cannot be known by one for another. If anything at all, it must be self-experienced. The God of one's parent must at a point become the God of the ward. It gets to a time that one seeks to know, what the meaning of life is. Faith plays a role in this.

Who am I in the first place? Why are we even here? What is the reason for being born? Are we here for a purpose or it is just to add to the numbers? Why all these questions and why do I even want to share this new series "The Real Me" with the world?

Why are we even here?

What is my reason for being born?

Last year at church, we held our annual conference but the theme would forever mark how I see things, convict me and make me want more and deeper things in my own faith life. The theme made me see parts of me that I thought had already been dealt with. This theme would reveal to me that there is more to this walk of life no matter the level you have reached.

This same theme would let me know that living a life of abundance and authenticity is what we are called to and nothing less. This theme would let the next weeks turn into months of searching for the deep things that can only be linked to God and no one or nothing else.

In the world of social media and artificial intelligence (AI), it is very easy to be and act like someone else when if fact you are the only one who knows and can be who you truly are.

The theme of our conference made me come back to writing again, hence my new series - "The Real Me".
