We live in an age where it’s easy to put up a front and be accepted for it. After all, you can’t let people see all of you… or can you?

Is that even right? Why can’t we see all of you?

And wait, why do we only get to see the beautiful sides?

I really want to know.

Anyway, in today's blog post, I’ll be sharing with you the theme of the conference that altered the course of my life.

Before this conference, I had been attending church just as I always had. Nothing felt new.

In fact, 2025 marked my fifth time attending this annual conference. I had grown “used to” the routines that came with the season. As a music minister, we would rehearse, get our uniforms ready, and prepare to give our best.

Every year, a theme is chosen, and that becomes the foundation for all the ministrations. But as I sat under the different sessions during the 2025 conference, I realised something. I had become numb to the life I was living.

The theme for the conference was “Pursuing Authenticity.” And yes, this theme is what made me pause and reflect.

Before the conference, those two words didn’t mean much to me. But afterward, they meant everything.
